The first Hearts of Hope were created in response to the national tragedy of September 11, 2001. In one afternoon, more than 700 Hearts of HOPE gifts were created for families from 9/11. A hospital in upstate New York hosted this community-wide event and volunteers arrived by the hundreds to help.
Stories were shared, tears were shed, and kindness and caring filled
One day later, Hearts of HOPE were driven into Lower Manhattan to Engine 4 Ladder 15 fire station. This station was the closest to the Twin Towers and the first to respond to Ground Zero.
THE REST IS HISTORY.
A HISTORY OF HOPE THAT CONTINUES TO EXTEND WORLDWIDE.
HOPE HAPPENS HERE.
